AcreConnect™: Essential Recordkeeping Benefits for Operators of Drones Under 55 lbs.

October 30, 2024

Some operators believe they don’t need AcreConnect because they aren’t required to report flight data to the FAA. While it’s true operators using drones under 55 lbs. are exempt from reporting flight data to the FAA, they still must maintain comprehensive records, which AcreConnect™ can help to maintain. Let’s explore how.

What Do Part 137 Regulations Say About Recordkeeping?

  1. According to section 137.71, each holder of a commercial agricultural aircraft operator certificate shall maintain and keep current, at the home base of operations designated in his or her application, the following records:
  2. Customer information: Name and address of each person for whom agricultural aircraft services were provided.
  3. Service details: The date of the service.
  4. Materials dispensed: The name and quantity of the material used for each operation.
  5. Pilot information: The name, address, and certificate number of each pilot, along with the date they met the knowledge and skill requirements of 137.19(e).
  6. These records must be kept for at least 12 months and made available for inspection by the FAA Administrator upon request.
